About the Host
Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve
Located in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera, the Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve is a living part of Bahamian history and 30-acre botanical garden. Operated by the Bahamas National Trust, it is the first national park on Eleuthera and serves as a botanical garden, an environmental educational center, and a facility for the propagation and conservation of native plants.
The Preserve is the fulfilment of the vision of longtime residents Leon Levy and Shelby White, who loved the natural environment and way of life on Eleuthera. Shelby wanted to celebrate her husband’s devotion to the island while contributing to a better future for all Eleutherans and founded The Preserve in 2003.
The Conference
On November 14-18th, 2022 the Levy Preserve hosted the 2022 Botanical Bridges congress bringing 55 participants from 26 organizations and 11 different countries and territories to Eleuthera to participate in three days of talks and discussions.
Sponsors
The Caribbean and Central American Botanic Gardens Network is immensely grateful for the generous support of our sponsors. Without them, this Congress would not be possible. We sincerely thank them for their commitment to helping us bring together partners from the region. We are honored to have their support and look forward to continuing to build relationships with them.
